Definitely a 22-250. I've used one for years. small varmint there is one problem, can't find what you shot. see the blood stains but it destroys the animal. Great for deer, large game probably either 30-06, or 8mm magnum. unless you want to go with a .444 magnumThe Best/favorite gun for these types of hunting (10 points)?
Ruger Mini 14 for varmints..... Its a close range rifle so theres a bit of a challenge to get close but its rewarding.....

I dont hunt big game.....
For varmints like jackrabbits and crows, I've always used a shotgun like the 20 gauge, but a .22 would also be useful if you can get one to hold still long enough to take aim. As for a rifle like deer or elk, the .30-06 works every time.
Small Game-30.30 Marlin Lever Action, with a 3-9x scope


Medium Game--30.06 Remington Woodsmaster, semi automatic, 4-12x scope.


Large Game--7mm Bolt action, or a .308 Bolt Action 4-12x scopes on each.
For small game and varmints,


Anschutz 1517 in .17 HMR


Medium game


Winchester Model 70 in .270


big game, read to mean also dangerous


Marlin guide gun in 45/70 with stiff handloads
small game- 6mmAR turbo or 6mmbr custom action


medium- 30-06 rem 700
