It sounds like their on to you. It only takes once and they will learn. Try sneaking in well before first light, and setting up downwind of where you have found all the sign. If your using a rifle, get as far away as your comfortable shooting distance is. If your using buckshot, get as close as you need to keep a lethal shot pattern. Try doing nothing to attract them but use lots of patients. Sit them out. If your confident that they are using this area then they will eventually come by. If this still doesnt work, set up a trail camera and find out when they are using this area. It could just be a night spot. The wiley coyote was not a nickname that was just made up. Their smart and pattern you just as you pattern them so keep human scent and unnessacary noise to a minimum. Also, try a tree stand to get your scent up off the ground and to increase your field of view. If you do end up shooting one, make sure that it is alone before you approach it because a pack of coyotes can view you as a threat and may protect the shot one. Wait for them to disperse before you approach it. If you decide you still want to use the foxpro, turn the volume down. Their hearing is much better than ours and if you can hear it at 20 yards then they can hear it at 200 yards. A dying rabbit can sound like an easy meal, but if that rabbit sounds like its 300 lbs. they may be timid. With the decoy, dont place it between you and where you expect them to come from because they will be looking right in your direction as they approach. Set it up at a 90 degree angle from you and the expected approaching direction. Keep an eye behind you to because they will sometimes circle downwind of the sound and scent check. use the best camo that you can and try setting up with some brush or trees behind you. remember the wind and keep it in your face. try using small dog sounds and rabbit distress cries. i use an elk call and try to make it as high pitch and loud as i can. when you see the coyote coming in try to stay perfectly still because they see everything. hope this helps!
